Tuesday mornings at 10:30 am, October 2,9, & 16, Linda Knieriemen will be leading a book study on Religious Literacy, What Every American Needs to Know and Doesn’t by Stephen Prothero. It is not necessary to read the book, (especially for the first session) but it will enrich the conversation.
Thursdays at 7 pm, beginning October 4, Matt Webber will lead Bible Study on the book of Hosea.

Keep an eye on the next Profiles for information on a possible Katrina recovery mission trip this coming February. In addition to returning for a week of work along the gulf coast, options might also include working out of a church currently being outfitted to host recovery teams in the Chantilly district of New Orleans proper. The latter door may not remain open long, however, so if you are committed or curious, see or call Dale Wyngarden.

First Presbyterian Church’s Youth Group is happy to announce the return of Pop Can Sunday. As a service to the congregation the High School youth of the church are willing to accept any and all returnable bottles and cans for recycling. This is a non-sticky way to get those cans recycled showing care for creation and a great way to help the youth of the church get ready for a trip to Colorado this coming summer. Pop Can Sunday will be every second Sunday of the month. If you forget one month, you will have another chance around four weeks later. Please, bring those cans and bottles in on the second Sunday of every month.
