50th Anniversary Celebrations
On Sunday September 9, 2007 we had one worship service followed by a Party/Chicken Bar-B-Q, outside on the church’s property as the “Kick-Off” for our Anniversary year of celebrations! We will be 50 on June 28, 2008. The party planners were: Liz Bristol, Keith & Barb Ditch, Diane Johnson, Kevin Oswald, Tom Urbaniak, Linda Knieriemen, Jan & Dan Goodwin, Judy Giles, Ann & Loren Meengs, Larry Grinwis, Mary George, Jack & Judy Faber, and Bart Shumaker and his Congregational Life committee!
ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION March 15
March 15, 1958 is the date that the organizers of First Presbyterian Church celebrated their first worship service. We wanted to remember and celebrate this date in 2008.
A fun art “happening” for kids took place in the Café under the leadership of Jennifer Gardiner (Hope Art Professor). A “group” project produced an anniversary art hanging. Adults (scrap booking for those who didn’t do a family page for the church scrapbook.)
At 5pm there was a Potluck in Fellowship Hall
Sloppy Joes and drinks provided.
Steve Borgman, Liz Bristol and Karen Yonker made and served their Sloppy Joes to everyone as they used their recipes from the church cookbook.
At 6pm the Midway High presented a humorous historical re-enactment of our church’s story in the sanctuary.
